ABOUT CHEESE SHOP Tom and Sandy Schutz are the proud owners of the Cheese Shop. They take great pride in their family style restaurant and food services. Whether you're dining in to relax and enjoy great food or ordering their delicious sandwiches to go, they always guarantee satisfaction in their great food and services. Cheese Shop was first established in 1972 by Tom's father, John Schutz. It began as a deli shop in La Jolla, and in 1989, the demand for Cheese Shop's great food services grew and another Cheese Shop was bought. The new location was on the corner of Fourth and G Street. In 1997, the downtown Cheese Shop moved to its current location on 627 Fourth Avenue. That year there was a big boom in business for the Cheese Shop when it began serving breakfast and was established as a dine- in restaurant. Please come in for breakfast to enjoy Sandy's favorite breakfast item: The Blueberry pancakes or come in for lunch to try Tom's favorite sandwich: The Turkey Jack Avocado on Sourdough.
