Peace River Center in Bartow, Fla., is a private, nonprofit, community mental health organization. It has been providing Polk, Hardee and Highlands counties with mental and behavioral health care services for more than 50 years. With facilities spanning the counties, the center offers a variety of treatment options to children and adults in many different settings. Services offered by Peace River include a crisis stabilization unit, outpatient counseling, psychiatric/medical, adult residential treatment, case management, domestic violence and sexual assault programs, youth line and 24-hour crisis hotline services. Funding for services and programs come from various sources. PRC also accepts many third-party insurance plans, Medicare, Medicaid, and in some cases, offers services on a sliding-scale fee basis.
