James Ross, M.D., is an orthopedic surgeon at Baptist Health Orthopedic Care. Dr. Ross specializes in sports medicine and joint preservation surgery of the shoulder, elbow, hip and knee. He is fluent in English and Spanish. Dr. Ross is one of the few orthopedic surgeons to have been awarded a Subspecialty Certificate in Orthopaedic Sports Medicine. He currently serves as the team physician for Florida Atlantic University, Lynn University, and the Florida Panthers. Dr. Ross is a member of the ANCHOR Research Group and the recipient of the International Society of Hip Arthroscopy (ISHA) Trainee Research Award. Dr. Ross is passionate about helping patients regain their quality of life and strives to put himself in their shoes when providing treatment recommendations. He encourages non-operative treatment when possible as a first-line therapy. When he is not treating patients, Dr. Ross enjoys spending time with his family, cooking, boating, dancing and listening to music.

With more than 30 years of experience, Dr. Ross excels at creating individualized care plans for his patients. He recognizes that he often meets people during the most difficult times in their lives and wants to help them navigate tough choices through innovative, compassionate care. In his free time, Dr. Ross enjoys traveling and spending time with his family.
