Juan C Ramirez, APRN

Felipe De Los Rios La Rosa, M.D., is a cerebrovascular neurologist, the Irma Bass Endowed Chair in Stroke Neurology and the director of stroke care at Baptist Health Miami Neuroscience Institute. Dr. De Los Rios La Rosa specializes in adult neurology, stroke treatment and vascular neurology. He is fluent in English and Spanish. Prior to joining Miami Neuroscience Institute in 2016, Dr. De Los Rios La Rosa served as the director of stroke and cerebrovascular diseases at SANNA Healthcare Network in Lima, Peru. Dr. De Los Rios La Rosa has been director of the stroke program at Baptist Health Baptist Hospital since 2016. Under his leadership, the program has undergone three Joint Commission re-certifications as a Comprehensive Stroke Center. It has also consistently received the top American Heart Association's Get With The Guidelines National Stroke Program Awards. Dr. De Los Rios La Rosa is involved in leading-edge research through NIH StrokeNet and regional partners. He has published more than 40 peer-reviewed articles in publications, including the Journal of Stroke & Cerebrovascular Diseases, Stroke, Neurosurgery, and the Journal of Neurology, Neurosurgery, and Psychiatry. He has presented at numerous national and international industry events and conferences. He has also helped start stroke programs in Latin American and the Caribbean. Dr. De Los Rios La Rosa is a fellow of the American Heart Association and has served in academic appointments at the University of Cincinnati and Florida International University. Dr. De Los Rios La Rosa bases his approach to patient care on the principles of autonomy and respect. He strives to provide individualized, patient-specific recommendations. When he is not treating patients, Dr. De Los Rios La Rosa enjoys playing tennis, reading, running and trekking.

Dayuri Gallardo, APRN, is a certified nurse practitioner at Baptist Health and is fluent in English and Spanish. She began her medical career in 2004 as a family medicine physician in Venezuela. Joining Baptist Health in 2011, Dayuri served as a registered nurse in the ICU/PCU and a nurse practitioner at Homestead Hospital. Dayuri now provides annual wellness exams, acute care visits, medication management and chronic disease management to Baptist Health primary care patients.After earning a bachelor’s degree in nursing from Miami Dade College, she completed a family nurse practitioner master’s program at the University of Turabo, South Florida campus. With experience in both acute care and family practice settings, Dayuri has cared for patients with a variety of chronic and acute life-threatening medical conditions. She is committed to providing compassionate and reliable care to help her patients achieve the best outcomes possible. When she is not taking care of patients, Dayuri likes to go to the beach and the movies with her family.

Juan Pretell, M.D., is a musculoskeletal oncology surgeon and the chief of musculoskeletal oncology surgery at Miami Cancer Institute. Dr. Pretell specializes in benign and malignant musculoskeletal tumors and skin cancers affecting the musculoskeletal system. He is fluent in English and Spanish.Prior to joining Miami Cancer Institute in 2022, Dr. Pretell worked at University of Miami where he was an Associate Professor of Orthopedic and Faculty of the Orthopedic Surgery residency program and Musculoskeletal Oncology Fellowship. He also was the director of clinical research in the Division of Musculoskeletal Oncology Surgery.Dr. Pretell’s research has been published in high-impact national and international orthopedic and oncology journals. He has been a speaker in national and international meetings, and faculty for international Musculoskeletal Oncology courses. He is an active member of the Musculoskeletal Tumor Society and fellow of the AAOS. He is also a Diplomate of the American Board of Orthopedic Surgeons.Dr. Pretell’s approach to patient care is to view patients and their families as his own family members. He is honest and open about the diagnosis and the treatment options available with the most current, evidence-based medicine. When he is not treating patients, Dr. Pretell enjoys going to arcades, cooking classes and entertainment activities with his oldest stepson and his triplets, watching movies with his oldest daughter, traveling and taking beach walks with his wife. He is also an avid World Cup soccer fan.
