The Clerk of Courts office provides access to a variety of information and public records to people. The office includes a traffic department that is responsible for the collection of violation fines. The department offers a list of approved driving schools and sets hearing dates. The Clerk of Courts office has a recording division that indexes a range of documents and instruments, such as deeds, liens, contracts, affidavits, subdivision plats, bills, judgments and military discharge certificates. In addition, the office operates a circuit civil department that handles cases related to auto negligence, eminent domains, foreclosures, and medical and professional malpractices. It is a part of the government of Putnam County in Florida.
