Visited here a couple times while staying with some friends on Sugarloaf Key. This is definitely a hidden "locals" gem. Great water views (not hard to find in the keys) and cheap, strong drinks...

Sugarloaf Logde is a family run, 31 unit waterfront resort in the Florida Keys 13 miles from Key West. All of our rooms face the water with sunset views and if you have a boat you can park it behind your room. The lodge has a Tiki Bar, marina, pool, tennis courts, and airstrip. Unfortunately, we do not allow pets but we are perfect for families, kayakers and flats fisherman. A fifteen minute drive from all that Key West has to offer without the crowds and high prices.

We stayed one night at this place cuz it was near the Bohia State Park, aboit 25' south of the park. Value: 1. the location: is great cuz it's about 25' drive to Key West. So if you wanna save...

Unfortunately, The Tiki bar at the Sugar Loaf Lodge was closed all week when we were in Key West 2nd week of February 2025

CLOSED! Such a bummer because it seems like a cool spot. Doesn't appear to be opening again anytime soon.
