About MicroDISC, Inc originated as Digital Image Systems Corporation ( D.I.S.C. ) in January of 1984 in the state of Pennsylvania chartered as a Manufacturers Representative for the Mid-Atlantic region ( NJ, PA, DE, MD, VA & Washington, DC ) of high technology companies. Shortly thereafter with the advent of affordable microprocessor based PC's MicroDISC, Inc was incorporated in January of 1986 chartered as a VAR ( Value Added Reseller ) of micro-based image processing components, sub-systems, systems and software. Maintains a current knowledge database of information regarding Intel-Micro Processor based architectures ( ISA, PCI, VME, Embedded ). Constant testing of all items sold by the components group keeps this information current and allows our customers to best use their available dollars for the purchase of components to equip their laboratory or facility with proven hardware and software solutions from many different manufacturers in the machine vision and image processing communities. Embedded and Hardened Systems This groups' products and services address the world of embedded and/or hardened ( machine vision and real-time data collection ) Real-Time systems for the Commercial and Military markets. When your machine vision system has to operate reliably in a harsh, noisy, dusty or hazardous environment, these equipment enclosures and embedded platforms allow you to safely install your machine vision system and maintain proper operation. Based on the potential client's image acquisition and processing requirements, the advanced technology group will investigate the technological feasibility of sub-system or system development and implementation using standard COTS or modified and/or enhanced components for the original manufacturer's specifications to meet the client's application enhanced needs. MicroDISC, Inc will see to full implementation of a custom design if COTS or enhanced COTS equipment don't meet the performance requirements.
