El Chico

The El Chico Caf story began when Adelaida Cuellar's homemade tamales drew huge crowds at a small county fair in 1926. Her sons opened a cafe in Dallas that served enchiladas prepared by using their mother's recipes. Since then, the caf has been serving Mexican food, including a variety of appetizers, soups, salads, sandwiches, tacos, fajitas, burritos and desserts. El Chico Caf also offers several types of alcoholic and nonalcoholic beverages, such as Mexican martinis, flavored margaritas, cabernets, chardonnays, merlots, white zinfandel, lemonades, Boca Blue Moon and La Suavecita. It offers catering services for a variety of events, such as holiday parties, business meetings, family gatherings and wedding receptions. El Chico Caf also offers its entire menu for take-out. The caf is a part of Consolidated Restaurant Operations, which operates more than 90 full-service restaurants in over 10 states. Its portfolio includes Good Eats, Cantina Laredo, Luckys Caf , Silver Fox Steakhouse, III Forks Steakhouse and Cool River Cafe. Additionally, it sells gift cards for various occasions, such as Mother's Day, Father's Day, birthdays and employee incentives. El Chico Caf has a location in Norman, Okla.
