University Mechanical Contractors, also known as UMC, is one of the largest mechanical contractors in the West. It specializes in handling various plumbing, piping, heating, ventilation and air conditioning projects. Founded in 1920, University Mechanical Contractors deals in large commercial and industrial projects. The company designs, constructs, repairs and maintains hospitals, laboratories, office buildings, research centers, and biotechnology, manufacturing and medical facilities. It is a member of the Mechanical Contractors Association of America (MCAA), American Society of Heating, Refrigeration and Air Conditioning Engineers (ASHRAE) and Building Owners and Management Association of Seattle (BOMA). University Mechanical Contractors has completed projects for the Washington State Employees Credit Union and the Washington State Department of Information Services.
